FRITZ!Box 7490 is a great router for any small network regardless of the connection type. It supports either ADSL or VDSL connections. You can use it with up to 12 IPSec VPN connections simultaneously, which makes it a good choice for homes or branch offices. As VDSL vectoring is supported, you will be able to reach up to 100 Mbps speeds and work on VPN smoothly and easily.

Use FRITZ!Box 7490 as a personal hotspot and connect through one of two wireless networks, allowing for maximum connection flexibility.  You can also restrict guest internet access to a certain activity or web-addresses for optimal network protection.

How to configure VPN on a FRITZ!Box 7490 router

You can set up a VPN connection to your FRITZ!Box 7490 router in just a few simple steps.

To get started, download the VPN Tracker 365 app.

  1. Download the free VPN Wizard app
  2. Follow the instructions in the app to automatically generate a VPN configuration file
  3. Open the user interface of your FRITZ!Box device
  4. Go to "Internet" > "Permit Access" > "VPN", upload the .cfg file generated by the VPN Wizard, and enter the password
  5. Double click the second file to open it and import the connection into VPN Tracker 365
