SonicWall TZ400 is a great choice if you are looking for a reliable solution for your medium-sized business. It supports up to 25 IPSec and 100 SSL VPN connections and can be optionally transformed into a wireless device. Although it is still an entry-level device, SonicWall TZ400 provides enterprise-level security.

By default, TZ400 includes a license to inspect encrypted traffic, which nowadays can be a source of multiple threats, by deep packet inspection. You can also extend the protection by adding extra security options. Besides, SonicWALL’s Capture Cloud Platform delivers automatic threat prevention, which is supported by information collected by multiple sources around the globe.

How to configure VPN on SonicWALL TZ400

You can prepare your SonicWALL TZ400 to VPN connection in a few simple steps:

1. Connect to the web interface of your SonicWALL.
2. Navigate to the "Manage" page in the top menu.
3. Go to the "Network" > "Interface" and write down Public (WAN) IP address.
4. If you are using IPSec VPN, go to "VPN"> "Group VPN" > "General" > "Shared Secret" and configure a Pre-Shared key.
5. If you are using SSL VPN, you will also need the Port Number and Domain which you can find under "SSL VPN" > "Server Settings".
6. Write down a username and password of the preconfigured user. You can find it under "Users" > "Local users and groups". You can also add a new user there.

How to set up a VPN connection to SonicWALL TZ400 on Mac, iPhone or iPad

Follow these steps to configure a VPN Tracker connection for SonicWALL TZ400:

1. Download VPN Tracker
2. Create a new connection. Search for SonicWALL > TZ Series and choose "GroupVPN IPSec" or "SSL VPN" depending on your router settings.
3. a) If you are using IPSec VPN, make sure "Simple Client Provisioning" is enabled. Enter your VPN Gateway, Pre-Shared key and user credentials.
   b) If you are using SSL VPN, fill in your VPN Gateway, Port Number, domain and user credentials.
